assignment number 13 research and inspiration

exquisite corpse: is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled.
(i took this from wikipedia)
It started from the game consequences and surrealist invented exquisite corpse

surrealism: a art movement from an unconscious mind.
(found it on wikipedia)

modern, humorous, exquisite

i choose this picture because its a pretty cool exquisite corpse. Its a half fish and half man body. The body is muscular, but the head and legs just don't fit that.

This is a nice picture of exquisite corpse. His legs are being pulled by 2 people and they are very skinny compared to the rest if his body. His head seems as if he was in the circus because of that big mustache. His body also tells us that he could be a knight or a person with armor.

The Creative Process

why do we need a process?

you will have consistency

ability to plan and time your work

raise the quality of your work

communicate more effectively and in a more professional manner

The Steps for the Creative process

research the client and competition. get on line, look at music and magazines. pay attention to the world around you. what ever you need to get inspired

What are you going to research and where are you going to research

brainstorming/ inspiration:

striving to be unique and innovative while still following the current trends, ensures a fresh and creative approach

what kind of message am i trying to communicate

who is my audience

what kind of style or color will work for this audience

sketching

Thumbnails, thumbnails, and more thumbnails
sketch to get your thoughts out and to work through ideas
consider placement of elements, color, typefaces.

execution

implement your ideas to compose a piece. Combine type and imagery, into a well developed composition. utilize design principles and visual organization guidelines to help. try techniques, explore possible out comes, and analyze the out come. If you get stuck walk away and clear your head. If the piece doesn't look how you imagined and it isn't wrong try another idea. Forcing in a idea wont result in a good design

Critique and revise

Take a step back. literally. and look at your design with an objective eye. Make sure the design effectively conveys the message, to the intended audience. if it doesn't, go back and tweak the composition, until it does. Asking others for there opinion will help the process.

vocabulary

Concept: something formed in ones mind.

Final product: the end result

thumbnail: a quick sketch to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.

Photo Composition

Snap Shot: is a quick shot often spontaneous, taken to record a moment in time.

Photograph: image taken with care and thought

Rules to perfect photography-

rule of thirds: imaginary lines drawn dividing the frame of your camera into thirds.

place the important subject, or important elements of your composition where these lines intersect.

Place the horizon line at the top or bottom lines.

You can also fill up the entire frame with the subject for a close up image

Leading Lines:

use the lines created within the foreground or background of the composition to lead the viewers eye through the photo.

lines can draw attention to one or more intended subjects or a single focal point

Point Of View:

Change the way  your subject is perceived by changing the camera position

If you are photographing a subject that you want to seem very tall, compose the shot so that the camera is looking upwards, or down wards for another point of view.

Simplicity:

keep your background simple and clear of clutter

the mood and the effectiveness of a photo can be altered by what is in the background

a chaotic composition will cause the viewer to look away
