There are many companies that will hire production artists such as Credit Suisse a private company, and there are school that might want you to work on their school newspaper or website. The salary is around 40 to 50 thousand a year. First of all you can take graphics design classes, and you can also intern for many companies that need or will hire production artists. You can also be hired to work on the school news paper. There are senior production artists in the field which get paid more and have to do more work.
