Semester Reflection

In this semester of graphics and design i learned how to use a lot of the tools on adobe illustrator and also on photo shop. I learned how to use the pen tool, magic wand tool, color tool, swatches, out lines and many more tools in adobe illustrator. On photoshop i learned how to crop pictures, make the brighter/darker, how to photoshop people into other pictures, and many more. For next semester i think that some projects due dates need to be extended and that you should go over the projects in more depth and show us how to use the tools needed to accomplish that assignment. I think it would also be nice if you could walk around and just take a quick look at all of our accomplishments so far on the assignment and correct us if we did something wrong.  I would like to learn more about illustrator and photoshop, such as the other types of tools used in them.

Review Week 17

Serif or Sans serif — which should I use?
You should use either one depending on what you are typing.  Serif could be for casual stuff and sans serif could be for more formal things. I found out that the definitions of serif on typo wiki and wikepedia are different. There are also different types of serif's and many variants which change the curl and more at the end of a letter

Vocabulary for Week 16

typography: The art or process of setting and arranging types and printing from them.  






typeface: 

A particular design of type.

serif: 

A slight projection finishing off a stroke of a letter, as in T contrasted with &ssT.

body type: 

a category of physique.

display type: 

Large or eye-catching type used for headings or advertisements.

reverse type: 

Copy which is printed in white against a color background (also known as "drop-out" printing).

point size: The size of a font measured in points.

assignment number 7

The objective of this assignment was to teach us how to take a photo of our selves and to merge us into a crowd of people or celebrities.  With my work i took a picture of Johnny Depp and some one else, and then i merged my self into this picture. The reason that it is grey is because i felt that i merged into the picture better when using grey scale, and that i did not merge as much when i was on color.  I utilized the layer masks by finding the right place on the photo to crop my self into and i also experimented with other tools such as the blur and burn tool.  I also used layer masks to remove the back ground that was all over my picture before.

The old style works best because it is one of the older ones and we use it a lot.
