Blog week 3 questions

How can graphic designers effectively communicate? In your own words, explain the communication process.

They can use images and symbols to go past language barriers and effectively speak to all people.  Designer also have to figure out what to say and how to present it to people.  For a topic like "smoking is bad" graphic designers will either be straight forward or they will be cunning and go out of the box.  The person could just put a picture of  a cigarette and a red X in front of it, or they could have someone smoking but the shadow of the cigarette is a gun. 

Understanding the history, culture and movements of fine and graphic arts will make you a better producer of visual messages. Why?

In a way graphics and design is the same concept as what people have done in history movements of fine and graphic arts. If the designer knows more about history and cultures it will be easier for him/her to think of ideas when a client asks for a design about this certain event in history or a certain culture of a country.  

What is OSHA? What do the letters stand for?

OSHA stands for occupational safety and health administration.


OSHA's job is to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and to provide enrichment.

Intro Goals

Why did you take this class?

I choose to take intro to graphic and design because when I saw this room on orientation day, I was amazed of all the MAC's in this one room and i decided to join this class so i could use them and also learn to use adobe programs that i will use in the future.

What goals do you have for the class?

My goals for this class is to be able to use the programs that i use here in this class in the future and learn the advanced techniques of those programs. I also want to learn more about the MAC and its capabilities.
