20 research and inspiration

File:Barack Obama Hope poster.jpg

Shepard Fairey is known for creating the Andre the giant has a posse sticker. At first it was for his peers and friends, but then the public got curious and it turned into a popular thing. He created a series of posters supporting Barrack Obama. One of them includes the iconic hope poster. It helped Obama win the campaign, and Fairey had sold around 300,000 stickers and 500,000 posters during the campaign. He did not keep any of the money for himself, instead he used it to make more art work.

I choose to work with the jobless people issue. Most of these poster will have a homeless person on the poster and the words will probably say hire me. People might also put their own twists to it. I would put the words help at the bottom of the poster. I will also use 3 to 4 pantone spot colors. Most people who make posters like this use the ideas of Shepard Fairey.

Assignment 19 reflection

I choose Ted's Hot Wings because I wanted to have some spice or fire on my business card. The top left picture is a picture of a chicken created using two chicken legs. For the font, I used a fiery, burning font and I colored it red. The flaming blob in the middle represents fire, or wing sauce. Some of the text at the bottom was also in fiery text.

19 research and inspiration

Color is called the silent sales person. It attracts the eye, tell the person about you and your business, and makes a sale. Blue is a global color. It can symbolize peace, tranquility, trust, and knowledge.
Black can be seen as the color of authority and seriousness. It is a mysterious color and shows feelings of class and elegance. Green is one of the most cited favorite colors. Green shows environment and eco-friendliness.  Orange is a playful color and should not be used to convey a serious message. Purple is a good color to use on children because studies show that 75% of children prefer purple.  Red is the warmest and a energy refreshing color in the spectrum. It shows passion, speed, and strength. It was a signal for battle for Romans.

Most businesses try to make the coolest and most creative business cards that represent their company. If business card only has one plain color to it and nothing more, the viewer will most likely get bored. If he was viewing a cool or creative business card, he will most likely hold on to the card and show it to all of his friends and family about how cool the card is and some one will eventually want to use the card to contact the person. Most business cards will have the person's name, the position he is in, his company name, the street it is located at, state, city, fax, website, and his email address.

Most companies in competition will usual try to create the best business card because usually the card that is most creative and cool will attract more people to pick it up, give it a quick read or feel, and he or she will either keep it , throw it away, or put it back. If the person chooses to keep it, you most likely have a future sale because he or she might also show the card to other people of how cool it was. Some business cards of  companies in competition will also state reasons why their company is better, or they might even put a coupon on the business card.

i choose to use this example because it shows creativity and is very cool. Lush is a lawn enhancement company so in their business card, they added seeds into it. They give you instructions on how to plant and grow the seeds, and in the second picture it says to add lush which is the company.

I choose to use this example because it is very creative and unique. It advertises a farm and is most likely also selling wool. The person advertises his farm by creating a business card with a sheep on it and there it real wool on the sheep. People who pick this up will most likely not put it back or throw it away. People might check out the farm or they might show the card to friends and family so they can see how cool and creative the card is. In turn those people will also tell tell their friends and family about the card and it will be very good business.

I choose to use this as an example because it is very unique. You stretch it a couple of times and you get tired, so you have to call the person which is a personal trainer. This is a nice way to advertise his job that he goes, and it probably gets him a lot of sales too.

Some good visual hierarchy of elements would be putting a picture that will get the readers eye to go there first when he or she reads it for the very first time. Do not put a long paragraph, just put some simple information like the phone, name, address, e-mail, and excreta. You should also not overwhelm the reader with pictures. You need the right combination of pictures, and text to make a nice business card.

Assignment 18 reflection

This is my assignment 18's reflection. I choose St. Henri's Hotel because the other two choices did not appeal to me. The name had St. in it so I choose to put a sign that you put the street name in and I also put a road next to that. I used 4 Pantone Spot colors. I think that the green St. and the purple Henri Hotel go very well with everything.
